Art Exhibition by the children of Beecroft Garden
You’re invited to ‘Reflections from the Loom’, an art exhibition by children of Beecroft Gardens School.
Every year the National Gallery’s ‘Take One Picture’ scheme for primary schools focuses on a painting from the collecting to inspire cross-curricular learning in primary classrooms. http://www.takeonepicture.org
This year it is ‘Penelope with the Suitors’, about 1509, by Pintoricchio. During January the whole of Beecroft Gardens School, from Nursery to Year 6, explored this painting in many exciting ways. Textile, collage, sculpture and music were used to branch out in many directions and come together to create an inspiring exhibition.
This exhibition has allowed the school to transform their hall into a real art gallery, to explore traditional and contemporary art on a grand scale!
There will also be a chance for visitors to interact with a giant loom!
The school very much look forward to sharing this with you so that you too can experience the exceptional way that Beecroft Garden gives such a large platform to the arts.
