MUSIC TUTORS REQUIRED (MIXED WOODWIND; VIOLIN/VIOLA; CELLO)

Lewisham Music is a new charity, established in April 2017. It is the former Music Service for Lewisham.  As lead music education hub organisation and the largest music education organisation in the borough, we support the music education of over 6,000 children every week. We offer a wide range of musical activities to schools and young people in Lewisham and work with an exciting range of partners.

We require enthusiastic and creative music leaders and teachers to join our team who have skills and experience in teaching the following:

  • Mixed woodwind (duties include individual and small group lessons for flute, clarinet and saxophone at our Saturday Music Centre. There is also work available in our Schools Programme for this role up to 2 days a week)
  • Violin/viola (duties include individual and small group lessons for violin, leading an intermediate string ensemble and jointly leading a chamber orchestra at our Saturday Music Centre. There is also work available in our Schools Programme)
  • Cello (duties include individual and small group lessons for cello and possible ensemble leading at our Saturday Music Centre. There is also work available in our Schools Programme)

Tutors need to be able to teach from beginner level up to Grade 7/8 and be experienced in leading an ensemble.

Ideally, we would like applicants to be available to work on Saturdays between 9am and 2pm. Our Saturday Music Centre runs for 10 Saturdays during school term time.

Application deadline: MIDNIGHT MONDAY 26 FEBRUARY
