Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospital Charity, with support from the Heritage Lottery Fund

Open Until:

Posted: 02/12/2015

Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals Charity, with support from the
Heritage Lottery Fund, is recruiting an experienced freelance textile
artist to create a new quilt, celebrating 100 years of Harefield
Hospital.

The commission should aim to incorporate a range of images and
creative processes to create a new quilt, reflecting key moments in our
history, elements from a new oral history project and pay homage to an
Anzac quilt made on site in 1917.   Co-produced with participants
through a series of workshops, it should offer a greater understanding
of our heritage through the involvement and the sharing of memories.

We offer a total budget of £6,000 for this commission to cover the
delivery of 10 community engagement workshops, materials/processes,
along with artists’ fees and all expenses.  The fee is offered inclusive
of VAT.

Workshops are likely to take place throughout Spring and Summer by
negotiation and agreement with the appointed artist.  The final textile
must be ready for display on 1st September 2015.

For more information or a copy of brief please see Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals Charity website here:

To apply please submit your CV along with a two page initial response
to the brief no later than 5pm on 24 February 2015, explaining how you
would fulfil this role.

Shortlisted artists will be invited for interview on 5th March at Harefield Hospital.

If you require any additional information or would like to discuss
the commission further, please see contact information below.
