A New Youth and Cultural Partnership for Bellingham

Project Type:
LEAN

How can a range of cultural/youth organisations work together to change cultural engagement and a sense of cultural entitlement in Bellingham children and young people?

LEAN is working with Lewisham Music, Greenwich and Lewisham Young People’s Theatre, Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance and Phoenix Community Housing who all run creative activities in Bellingham.

We have started to bring together all organisations working with young people in Bellingham to discover how a range of cultural/youth organisations can, together, change cultural engagement and a sense of cultural entitlement in Bellingham children and young people. We particularly want to ensure young people and their families feel the new Fellowship Inn is a place for them to create, play, meet, influence and experience a wide range of cultural opportunities.

* A round-table discussion/meeting is one where people meet and talk in conditions of equality.

We hope you are interested in meeting up with like minded organisations to have your say and:

  • Identify a shared purpose;
  • Share knowledge;
  • Identify gaps in provision;
  • Ensure a cohesive cultural offer to young people;
  • Avoid duplication;
  • Collectively fundraise for the future

It was exciting to see so many people at the first Bellingham Arts Regeneration Project meeting in June. A vast amount of information was exchanged and views generously shared.Our second meeting took place on 18 October 2017.

Do join us for the 4th, 5th and 6th meetings on 23 April, 11 June and 16 July.
