Speech Bubbles is an in-school KS1 intervention using drama to develop communication skills, confidence and wellbeing. This free taster will give an introduction to how SLCN impacts in the classroom and how Speech Bubbles’ carefully designed drama activities can help.

Congratulations to Sound Connections who have just announced four years of strategic investment from Youth Music. As one of 13 organisations awarded a Youth Music Fund C grant, Sound Connections becomes part of the newly formed Alliance for a Musically Inclusive England working together to promote diversity and cultural democracy in music education.

Inner-city children with speech, language and communication difficulties showed significant improvements in response to a drama-based intervention, research from the University of East London (UEL) has found.

The Horniman Museum and Gardens is looking for a creative arts practitioner with prior experience of delivering Arts Awards projects with young people. You will develop and pilot a new summer project with local young people responding to our new World Gallery. This is a fixed term contract for May to August 2018 inclusively.

Voluntary Action Lewisham is offering a new opportunity to display your artwork in New Cross.
VAL has recently moved to new offices, with lots of white wall space ideal for displaying artwork. As part of our mission to strengthen the community sector in Lewisham, we would like to work with local and emerging artists to show and sell their work here.

Dance Umbrella is embarking on a 20 month residency in partnership with Croydon Council. We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, articulate individual to work with a range of stakeholders in the borough to devise an imaginative programme of dance engagement and participation for children and young people. The residency will culminate in Dance Umbrella launching the 2019 Festival in a weekend takeover at Fairfield Hall.

LAHF is seeking a visual artist to help document its annual festival Creativity and Wellbeing Week. The artist will be expected to attend between 2 and 4 key events in the festival and capture them visually in a way which can be recreated digitally. This documentation will sit alongside the organisation’s evaluation of the week and will be used to summarise the festival and help with communication for future development of the festival.

Youth Music are a national charity investing in music-making projects for children and young people experiencing challenging circumstances.

We believe everyone should have the chance to make music. Our projects help young people develop musically, of course, but they have personal and social outcomes too.
