Don’t miss free COCKPIT ARTS BUSINESS ADVICE tomorrow

12pm — 2pm Saturday 14 September, Restaurant Unit 1, Deptford Market Yard, SE8 4BX. Part of South East Makers Club.

Cockpit Arts is London’s leading studios for craftspeople
working in an array of disciplines including ceramics, textiles,
leatherwork, millinery, jewellery and more. They house 140+ small
businesses at studios in Holborn and Deptford. They support craft makers
at the start of their careers, as well as those who are more
established, to grow and build successful, thriving businesses in the UK
and internationally.

For South East Makers Club in 2019
Cockpit Arts are offering business advice for craftspeople and makers of
all experience levels, whether you want to find out more about
developing your own craft business, you already have your own craft
business and would like advice, or you just want some feedback on
something you have made.

Bring yourself, your work and a
friend if you want to. Cockpit Arts will have staff and makers on-site
to answer questions, give feedback and highlight opportunities.

Though
these informal open chat sessions are open to anyone seeking advice on
their craft enterprise, Cockpit Arts are especially interested in
talking to people who are under 25 as they launch Make It! – a brand new
programme that offers London-based makers aged 25 or under the support
and space to build their own craft-based business. The Make It!
programme includes workshops in business basics, one-to-one coaching and
your own studio space at Cockpit Arts. It’s open to makers who are
currently unemployed or underemployed (working in a job that doesn’t use
their craft skills). Worth up to £5,000 Cockpit Arts are are able to
offer three participants in Make It! for free in the first year.
