Become a LEYMN Apprentice!

After
a successful first year we are looking for five new LEYMN Apprentices to
experience a unique opportunity to develop their skills and confidence in using
music with under-5s. The LEYMN Apprentice Programme draws together mentoring,
training, shadowing and observations.

This
opportunity is for those who consider themselves either musicians or early
years practitioners (who don’t consider themselves specialist music
practitioners) or those at the beginning of their early years music
practitioner career. You must live or work in London.

What is included in the Training Programme?

  • An initial induction session for all Apprentices and Mentors  (July 2015)
  • Three hours of mentoring time with your designated Mentor, either face to face or remotely via telephone or Skype
  • Attendance at two training workshops
  • Two shadowing opportunities witha LEYMN core member or Sound Connections early years project
  • Attendance at a regional/national conference
  • Participation in seminars / conferences open to the wider LEYMN membership
  • Production of resources for dissemination to wider LEYMN network
  • Production of a case study reflecting on journey through the Training Programme and lessons learnt
  • The keeping of a Reflective Diary to capture your progress and look back on key moments
