North Downham Community Festival

A community festival on 19-20 March to celebrate the beginning of spring

Date: 28/03/2024 – 28/03/2024

Time:12:00

The Festival is organised by the North Downham Training Project, in partnership with Goldsmiths Community Association, and will be held in and around the Goldsmiths Community Centre.

Come along it’s fun and free – lots of activities and information for you and your family!

The festival programme and timetable is as follows:

Friday 19 March Arts, Culture and Education 12 noon – 5 pm

Saturday 20 March Community, Health and Fitness 12 noon – 5.45 pm. To be opened by the Young Mayor and Deputy Young Mayor of Lewisham, Jacob Sakil and Lola Mustapha.

20 March marks the beginning of spring in the northern hemisphere, when day equals night, and throughout the world there are ‘markers’ for this time of year including holidays, celebrations and traditions.

The festival was inspired by the Boundfield Festival which used to take place during the summer holidays over 30 years ago at the Community Centre, Forster Park School and Forster Memorial Park serving over 400 children and their families.

We’re aiming for a carnival atmosphere and fun, active and interactive – the themes are broad and can overlap both days. Please let us know if you want to find out more, and if you’re able to participate or organise an activity or event plus any suggestions you may have! Please contact me at the email address below I’ll send you a link to a dedicated festival page on the Goldsmiths website.

The North Downham Community Festival is supported by the Community Sector Unit with sponsorship from Phoenix Community Housing Local Area Panel.
