News

Lewisham Councils main grants programme is now open for applications from charities and not-for-profit organisations in the borough.

There is exciting news to end 2018 as Deptford / New Cross is named as one of six Creative Enterprise Zones (CEZ) announced by the Mayor of London.

The successful bid for funding from the Mayor will help to ensure growth in the creative industries and that artists, creative talent and communities can thrive.

Lawyers Volunteering for the Arts are looking to work with arts organisations who would otherwise not be in a position to afford legal advice and might have suitable issues or projects that would benefit from free advice from a qualified solicitor.

They are interested in helping organisations active in any aspect of the cultural sector, including abstract, conceptual and performance art, visual arts, and performance arts such as music, dance and theatre.

London Connected Learning Centre has begun work on a project of funded professional development training for educators, both formal and informal, across London to support them int he development of their digital skills, with a particular focus on creative industries.

The Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) is seeking proposals from organisations who have the capacity, expertise and capability to deliver a national youth voice programme with young people in England until end March 2020.

The total funding available for this programme is £170,000.

The Genesis Young Curator post responds to the acute lack of representation in the visual arts in the UK of young talented curators from diverse backgrounds.

The role is a one-year placement, working with Create London and exceptional artists on ambitious public projects.

The Conservatoire seeks to provide an outstanding creative education to all who use our services. The Premises Stewards are the team who fulfil a vital support function in providing a safe, secure and welcoming environment for all our students; tutors and staff. Utilising their organizational and logistical skills and meticulous attention to detail, they help ensure the efficient operation of the Conservatoire at its busiest times.

Professional Development

Sound Connections presents an interactive musical workshop for those who work with early years.

This INSET will explore how teachers can use the arts (including visual arts and performing arts) to generate wonder, curiosity and investigation

Explore the basics of creative dance and develop your subject knowledge, confidence and delivery skills through a variety of interactive tasks and activities. Run by The Place and A New Direction.

In collaboration with Canterbury Christ Church University, Aesop Institute 2019 is a new professional development programme is for those wishing to devise and run successful arts and health programmes.

Three-day residential in Folkestone from 14 – 16 May 2019, with a two-day follow-up residential from 3 – 4 September 2019 in Canterbury.

Fee (including catering and accommodation: £975)
