Next Tuesday's Breakfast Club: Looking after your well-being as an arts freelancer

20 February 2018

Deptford Lounge

08.30-10.00 drop-in

We have recently seen a wider advocacy of using the arts to improve mental health and wellbeing (see the all-party parliamentary group report, Creative Health: The Arts for Health and Wellbeing) and those working in arts education will be aware of the benefits that appreciating or actively creating art has on health.

There is also a greater understanding of well-being in the workplace and how organisations can better support their employees. But how can we make sure that we take care of ourselves as freelance/self-employed practitioners?

In the first Freelancer Breakfast Club of 2018, join other freelancers to discuss and share experiences, concerns and tips for staying happy and healthy in your work and practice (do look at our online Resilience Toolkit for some thoughts on practitioner resilience).

During the session you can:
• Meet others in the same sector
• Share your experiences and ask questions
• Talk about your own work and participatory practice
•Talk to LEAN (Lewisham Education Arts Network) and the Albany about any arts education/participatory arts work you do in the borough

This event is for those who live and/or work in Lewisham. All welcome, whatever your art form or career stage.

The cover charge of £3 contributes to the cost of a hot drink and pastry and tickets can be pre-booked from The Albany's website.

Do feel free to pass on to colleagues and email Alison at for more information
