FutureFest

FutureFest is Nesta’s flagship weekend event of immersive experiences, compelling performances and radical speakers to excite and challenge perceptions of the future

Each day of FutureFest will feature unique programming and some of the content will repeat across the weekend; the full timetable will be released in early February. Speaker highlights include NSA whistle-blower Edward Snowden, visionary musician George Clinton, journalist and best-selling author Jon Ronson, human rights lawyer Baroness Helena Kennedy QC, and musician Matthew Herbert.

Understanding the Child: Early Years and Your Creative Practice

The aim of this three-hour session is to provide practitioners with specific early years development knowledge, which they can then, through a workshop, apply to their practice.

9:15am - 1pm
Tuesday 8th July 2014

Covering the three age groups of babies, toddlers and 3-5 the session will introduce child development, attachment and relationships, stages of play, and policy guidance for the age groups and will raise considerations for running creative workshops/provision for them. There will also be plenty of time for discussion and handouts to take away.

Young Peoples Coordinator, South London

The Young People’s Coordinator is responsible for leading and managing a programme of activities for young people, specifically managing the SLG’s young people’s forum, the Art Assassins, and the REcreative mentees (a mentoring programme for 16 – 18 year olds), as well as giving administrative support to engage young people with the REcreative online community.
