Making Music Happen Course

The course is held at Gallions Primary School and is open to anyone working in education, looking to see how music can work in a primary setting and perhaps get some ideas for their own institutions.

Gallions Primary School prides itself on being a pioneering school in terms of its strong emphasis on creative learning. This course is designed for educators who seek to develop a musically creative approach to teaching within their school environment. During this half day course participants will be provided with an opportunity to explore practical solutions towards developing a whole school approach to music.

Participants will learn about and discuss some of the ideas behind the Gallions ethos, observe musicianship teaching through the Kodaly approach and some group string tuition which uses the Colourstrings method of teaching, explore cross-curricular music teaching in the classroom, and examine ways of developing music in their settings.

This terms course will take place on Friday 20th November 2015. The day’s programme will be led by our Lead Practioner in Music and held in our exciting new music facility. 
The course of the cost is £99 which includes lunch and refreshments. It is a full-day course 8.45am-2pm (The early start is to enable participants to watch our senior orchestra rehearsing from 08:45-09:30)
