Public consultation on proposals for the future of Youth Services in Lewisham

Further
reductions in Government funding now require Lewisham Council to make further
savings of £85m by 2018. Whilst the vision remains the same the Council
reductions will require further changes in how they organise and deliver support
to young people in Lewisham. It also gives them an opportunity to think
creatively about how they do this. The level of saving being requested is in line
with savings required across the Council, i.e. the Youth Service is
taking a fair share of the required cuts. They are therefore considering proposals
to make £1.4m of savings from the current £3.46m budget (41%).
