Evaluating Your Project

Evaluating Your Project is part 5 of the MusicLeader Project Management Course and aims to provide a guide to evaluating a youth arts project.

This course is running as part of 5 Project Management courses, however each session stands alone and can be attended on its own

Posted: 12/10/2010

The course covers:

  • What exactly is meant by evaluation?
  •  How it relates to music projects and work with young people.
  •  How important it is to build in evaluation processes right from the start.
  •  Who exactly is evaluation for and why?
  • Different approaches and where to start.
  • How to collect and interpret evidence, the importance of reflecting and moving forward.
  •  Different ways of collecting, assembling, and interpreting evidence. Including using appropriate and creative methods for collecting and collating aural and visual evidence.

By the end of the course, trainees will have a clear idea of what evaluation is, who it is for, and some techniques and approaches appropriate for music projects with young people.

All participants will take away a copy of the Arts Council publication Partnerships for learning: a guide to evaluating arts education projects.

This course is aimed at project managers or those involved in running their own project and managing the evaluation process. No previous experience is necessary.
