Education, Place, Culture - session 3, Culture

Date:
Tue, 24/01/2017 - 13:30 - 18:30

Join A New Direction for the final of their three sessions for cultural organisations looking at the current policies and trends affecting creative learning and cultural education. FREE.

The ‘Culture’ session will explore how arts and cultural organisations understand and communicate the value of their work in cultural education, and how this can be interpreted and embedded into strategic positioning and future delivery of quality, authentic work.

We’ll hear from cultural organisations, peer outreach experts and researchers on best practice for co-production, outreach, and evaluation, and we’ll explore innovative interpretations of existing quality frameworks in a changing arts education policy landscape. The session will end with networking and drinks at 5pm to celebrate, connect and reflect on the end of the series.

Speakers include:

RENAISI on their national evaluation of the Cultural Citizens Pilot and the wider context of their area-based work.

The GLA’s Youth and Education Team on their work with authentic engagement and quality provision of working with young people across London

AND’s Holly Donagh on Creative People and Places and the Excellence Report

Sade Banks-Brown on her work with Creative Partnerships as Engagement Manager at The Barbican Centre and young people’s provision with her new social enterprise as CEO and Founder of SourLemons

A workshop with Hannah Wilmot will explore embedding and interpreting quality principles.
